Michael M. Muchnicki : President & CEO
Michael Muchnicki joined Sterling in 2009 as President and CEO. He is a health insurance industry veteran with an outstanding background.

He was most recently the President and Chief Executive officer of Touchstone Health Partnership Inc., a Medicare Advantage organization in New York. He spent most of his career at UnitedHealth Group where he served as President and CEO of the Ohio, Louisiana and South Florida markets. In addition, he was the Regional Vice President for the Southeast and the Caribbean markets for CIGNA Healthcare. Michael was President of Vista Healthplans in Florida which was acquired by Coventry Health Care in 2007.

He has an established track record for achieving profitable growth and strong leadership skills. Muchnicki also offers his time and expertise, serving as a board member, to non-profit organizations such as the American Heart Association, The Make-A-Wish Foundation and the American Red Cross.



Patrick Collins : Vice President, Strategy and Execution
Mr. Collins joined Sterling as Vice President of Strategy and Execution after successfully leading the integration of Munich Reinsurance and Sterling Life Insurance. In this current position, Mr. Collins is responsible for facilitating the development and documentation of strategy, for the alignment of the Project Management with the execution of strategic initiatives, Corporate Communication and Government Relations, and for ensuring the company's brand is protected in all endeavors.

Prior to joining Sterling, Mr. Collins was a Senior Vice President and reinsurance underwriter for Munich Re America HealthCare, a division of Munich Reinsurance America Inc. There, he developed and cultivated medical reinsurance programs in the United States that include a number of market segments and products. An actuary by trade, Mr. Collins has spent the majority of his career designing and managing health insurance programs.

Mr. Collins graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. John's University in New York with a degree in Computer Science/Mathematics. He is a fellow in the Society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries.



Craig A. Bodway, Esq. : Vice President, Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
Craig Bodway is in-house counsel and Vice President of Olympic's Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Department. Mr. Bodway manages field and product compliance; complaints, grievances and appeals; and internal audit functions. This includes oversight of program and plan design, drafting, reviewing and negotiation of provider and vendor contracts. He is also responsible for obtaining necessary regulatory approvals and regularly interacts with state and federal agencies on issues pertaining to benefit restrictions, provider access, interpretation of regulations, and comments on proposed regulations. He prepares in-house legal opinions on a variety of issues such as fraud and abuse/anti-kickback safe harbors, HIPAA administrative simplification, and ERISA.

Mr. Bodway previously worked for American Guaranty Life Insurance Company for six and a half years, where he was Associate General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for providing legal advice to the corporation on regulatory issues, contracts, employer/employee relations, tax, litigation, real estate and general corporate matters.

Mr. Bodway received a dual Bachelor's degree in history and political science from the University of Oregon and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law.
